Allessia Faithhammer

<<<  Index  >>>

Allessia Faithhammer from Secomber is a cleric of Helm, the Vigilant One, deity of guardians and protectors. Many people are good. Most of them have their dark side too however, although they might seldom or never  show that side. Some people are pure good. It's rare, but in the times of true heroes, these pure, holy warriors existed. Allessia is one of them. She had her education in the churches in Secomber were she learned all there was to learn about their religion, about the world, about the people on it and how to survive without becoming a barbarian. Her mentor was Huros, an old priest.
Allessia had the urge, or maybe it was a duty, to lend her power to defend the innocent and to protect the poor. She did that with the not so divine weapons as the bow and the sword, weapons she mastered to perfection. Her god had also blessed her with useful powers to heal the sick and to harass the enemy with fear. So when a letter arrived from her old mentor Huras in the famous port city Baldur's Gate, telling about the real troubles that made life in the city almost impossible, she was on her way before she reached the end of the letter.
Through the ages Baldur's Gate has been a rich and prosperous city. The forgotten realms produced the most rare and valuable ores, minerals and gems and the lands harbored ancient secrets and hidden treasures. This attracted adventurers, traders and craftsmen of all kind, some good, some bad. Baldur's Gate has been the focus of many wars and conflicts.
So Allessia did what she had to do and freed Baldur's gate from the terrors of Mordoc, an evil vampire and his Onyx Tower. Some say Allessia didn't do this alone but had the help of a number, up to five, adventures. It's true that at least one other warrior, Vhaidra Uoswiir,  played a major role in the liberation of Baldur's Gate this time. What the relationship between the two woman really was we probably never know. These events took place a long time ago and many reports and books have probably been destroyed during later conflicts. It's likely however that Allessia nor Vhaidra operated sole on their own because there are persistent rumors that both women played a role in rescuing three famous adventurers who had defeated a former threat to the city of Baldurs Gate years earlier. One of these great warriors was the elven sorceress Adrianna
