When
Diosamante was a young woman she was the Queen of Arhas. She ruled with an
iron fist, she was cruel and ruthless. The world was hers. And as cruelty
often goes hand in hand with beauty, she was beautiful as well. Probably
the most beautiful woman of the land and far beyond. She was of such great
beauty that men were willing to die for her. And they did. Men who wanted
to touch her flesh and own her body had to fight with each other to the
death. Only the last alive was granted the pleasure of Diosamante. Love
didn't count, just lust. One year and then death.
One day Diosamante met king Urbal de Sarabba and she instantly fell for
him. And for the first time she couldn't instantly take what she wanted
the way she desired. This she had to earn. She had to come down from her
high tower, to feel and understand poverty, to beg instead of buy or take. |
