| In
their world and their time, dragons still lived and roamed and terrorized
mankind. They had to be killed. Not because of themselves, but because of
the veill, some kind of aura that surrounds dragons. Any living man became
corrupted and mutated sooner or later when in the vicinity of dragons.
Only virgins went unnoticed by dragons and were immune for the ugly powers
of the veill. Ellys was the shield-bearer of Jaïna, a member of the dragon knights who's sole purpose it was to get close to a dragon and kill it. Both women were virgins of course. But dragons aren't the only evil creatures in the world, as Ellys and her master found out at heir last mission together. Before they were to fight the dragon they were hunting for, they stayed the night in an isolated outpost in the mountains, the tower of Meln. The ladies of the Dragon Knights usually were welcomed with mixed feelings. The bare fact that young women were to conquer dragons where man couldn't even get close to the animals arose a lot of hatred and envy among some men. That one night one of these men let the wine and the words flow in Elly's room and the next morning she was afraid to look at herself. But she didn't tell Jaïna. Well, she did tell her actually, but by then the dragon already had sensed her and tore apart the body of her master with one single blow of his claw. Ellys killed the dragon herself then. |
