Eulalie Sterling

<<<  Index  >>>

Eulalie 'Lola' Sterling is a spoiled rich mans daughter on the planet Avalon, a mining planet that became independent fifty years ago after the independents war. Today the Axis, the central government of the planets, that what is left of the empire from half a century ago, are back on Avolon to talk about the future. To regain power over the rebel worlds. The father of Lola is an intermediate between the government on Avalon and the rulers of the Axis. Lola, being a adolescent and an activist, disagrees with her father about everything and rebels against the new rulers and their gigantic spacecrafts. She forms a rebel group and later forms an alliance wit another rebel group. They go far in their actions, not afraid of hurting the enemy, using downright violence and blowing up their ships. She falls for the boyish charms of Karl, another rebel, but both of them eventually fall in de hands of the enemy. This was not only for Lola a bad dream come true, but also for her father, the diplomat who was working on a good relationship with the enemy. Lola was set free, but her father was vulnerable for blackmail now. Her friends, the other members of their terrorists gang were less lucky. They were handed over to the Axis police and tortured.
It became clear the people of the Axis hadn't come here for social talk. They became downright hostile and even shanghaied young men from Avalon for the army. Many of Lola's friends were shipped off the planet to get a military training an be re socialized. And Lola became more determined in her resistance every day. She also found out, much to her relief, that her father wasn't just a slave for the Axis, but was working with a large underground network of resistance.
