Gabrielle lived in the village of Poteidaia when Xena, the warrior princess crossed her path, saving her and other village girls from slavery. Gabrielle instantly decided to become a warrior like Xena. She follows Xena and they become a team. Gabrielle proves herself very skillful with a number of weapons, although it takes some time before she believes it herself. Words are probably her strongest weapons though. The women have a warm relationship.
The main character in the Xena Warrior Princess TV series was Xena. The female villain Calisto.
