Greer Grant Nelson

Greer was born in Chicago, Illinois, was married with a man called William once but he died and she went later to Los Angeles, California.  She had a brief career as a assistant to Dr. Joanne Marie Tumolo, a member of an old race, the Cat-people. She did research in physiological conditioning, a study that, to put it simply, would enable people to make fully use of all powers that was in them, either physical or mental.  The program was funded by an organization who tried to build an army of super powered women. Greer unknowingly served as a guinea pig  and so became a woman with superhuman powers.  She hadn't volunteered for this but there was no way back now. She mounted herself in one of the suits that were designed for the army of superwomen, named herself The Cat and went after the secret organization, in order to stop their evil plan. She succeed and became a crime fighter in Chicago, were she fought with or against other famous superheroes like Spiderman and the Man-Killer Katrina van Horn  and Spider Woman Jessica Drew.
During an encounter with dangerous and evil HYDRA agents The Cat was hit by a blast of alpha radiation. To save the life of the deadly wounded Cat, Dr. Joanne Marie Tumolo transfromed with her into the old cat-race she was a member of. Now the human Greer, operating in her cat outfit and calling herself The Cat, became in reality half-human, half -cat. From now on she would operate as Tigra, the Were-woman. She was able to transform herself back to her human form, but she hardly ever did.
She also had been a member of the East-  and the West Coast Avengers
