| Where
Jill game from, nobody knows. She just jumped
out of thin air, long before other famous amazons and warriors and rogues
arrived. She had among other things a throwing blade, a knife that most of the time returned,
unless is was stuck in a piece or wood or something. Without introduction she plunged in to action, fought the
strangest creatures at the strangest worlds and places with her amazing ability
to change form, stole the hearts of many and then suddenly, disappeared. And she ate a lot of apples. |

Jill of the Jungle might very
well be the first PC game amazon. And although it's an
old game (1992, computer games ages very fast) it still hasn't lost it's
appeal. Animation is much smoother and better then the animation for the
old Duke Nukems or other Rambo's from that time, music is great and
gameplay is even better. It's a friendly game, without blood dripping off
the walls and without bosses you had to die a dozen times for to kill it
once.
Well if you play it now you start comparing it with modern games and that
ain't fair of course. Compared with platformers from that time this
game easily is the winner and even now there are platform games released
that can not compete with this. It's kids stuff, but it is also one of the games that should be
released again on some console.
If she really is the first she did a good job preparing the digital worlds
for warriors that came after her. |
