Marie

Marie is the daughter of a red-haired woman called Rooie and a devil called Kzyl-Orda. Her mother had been half devil-half human herself, so she, her daughter, stood even closer to the demons.
When Marie was still a baby her mother fell victim to the inquisition and they burned her. Marie was rescued by her brother. That boy, still a child, obviously could not take care of his little baby sister so he left her in a safe spot where it was certain she would be found by people rich enough to raise her. Then he swore two things. First to revenge his mother and secondly, to one day come back for his sister.
Marie was adopted by the family Van Beaubreuil who already had a son called Guillaume. They were good for her and wise enough not to speak about certain special gifts they discovered in Marie. Like being able to look in the future at some times or being able to talk with wild animals.
Things remained calm for many years although two of the most dangerous men on earth, her father Kzyl-Orda and her real brother who by now had found out he was a devil himself. Her father needed her just to breed and keep his community fresh, her brother had sworn to come back for her many years ago. Both men wanted a secret holy manuscript that had been in the possession of both her father and her mother once, but which had been lost.
With the aid of a dark haired warrior called Stomme (mute) her brother found her first. With his army he raided the fortified settlement the family Van Beaubreuil lived in. In the consternation that took place that night Marie for the first time discovered her true nature when she turned into a she-devil, killing men with the ease of a wolf. She nevertheless was captured by Stomme who knocked her out and brought her to her real brother somewhere outside the town. But they were followed by her stepbrother Guillaume who owned a special dagger and with that he killed the devil-brother.
Marie, like her mother before her, hated being different. Most of the time she was able to control her dark or holy side but not always. With the help of her stepbrother and friends she tried to, well, find a cure for this disease.
But not for long. Again her homestead was raided, this time ordered by her natural father. The devil in Marie awoke and she ran. Right in to the arms of Stomme who by now had taken the side of Kzyl-Orda. The dark haired woman was obviously no match for the develish Marie but she led her to Kzyl-Orda anyway.
