Mei Kyoto

The year is somewhere in a dark and distant future. Earth is under attack of Manti bugs. They are aliens who consume human DNA to feed on and build on. We had no direct answer to this threat. Mankind has colonized Mars and other planets and reshaped these new world to fit their own needs. But not for long. The Manti, determent to destroy the human race, followed mankind to all it's colonies.
The war took place at the face of the colonies, on Earth, as well as in the air and in space. It went on for years. In their spaceships the critical battles were fought by a heroic team of pilots, called Defenders. Many of them died. Many of them vanished, evaporated in their ships. Many of them are forgotten. There were no bones to bury, there are no graves to visit. Of one brave fighter, the tiny Mei Kyoto, at least we know she once existed. And that she climbed up in the ranks from rookie to commander, and that she piloted all kind of ships and was responsible for very important victories and so directed the outcome of the war. Most home bases she was stationed in were destroyed more than once, important files were destroyed and libraries burnt for days. All that is left of Mei kyoto is this official service picture and the photo from her military passport.
The other picture is the add with which the governments recruited new pilots and a picture of what might have been one of her ships. Also some radar screens have survived and a killer score.
Mei kyoto. A very important person. Missing. No date of birth. Fate unknown.
I'll write down her name once more, Mei Kyoto, so that she will not be forgotten
