| Slive
and her daughter were two of the three last remaining members of the star people.
The star people once lived on a now lost continent on Earth. When
disasters struck their continent they left for the stars in a space ship.
This was thousands of years ago. Many years later a group of them returned
to Earth. But their ship was became damaged when they landed and
they found themselves stuck on an island in the Frozen Seas. They spent
120 years trying to rebuild or repair their space ship but they failed.
And for 120 years they roamed the neighboring countries in search of
slaves. They needed these to mine coal or other minerals to, well, stay warm
and keep the engines running. But they weren't immortal. And they weren't
immune to all viruses and deceases that lived on Earth too and in the end
their community was reduced to just Slive and
her daughter. And a boy. The last chance for their race to survive
was to have the boy and her daughter to meet and raise a family. But the
boy had been lost in a shipwreck many years ago and was raised and lived
since with Vikings led by Leif Haraldson. They had named the boy Thorgal
Aegirsson. To come in contact with Thorgal, Slive went to the Viking village but the moment Gandalf laid eyes on her he wanted her for his wife. Slive refused that and was locked up in the rear tower for nine years. She then managed to escape at last but lost her left eye in the act. Years later she made a second attempt to get to Thorgal. This was when Gandalf found out his daughter Aaricia had fallen in love with Thorgal. He sentenced the young Viking to death by drowning. Slive rescued him. The wisest thing to do now would have been to go with Thorgal to her kingdom in the Frozen Seas, but Slive wanted her revenge for being locked up for nine years, and Thorgal wanted his revenge and his Aaricia. So they made a plan to get Gandalf. But the plan failed in the end and she was back to where she had started from. Finally her daughter, the beautiful but ruthless Lord of the Three Eagles, kidnapped Aaricia at the day she would wed Thorgal, who had made up with Gandalf at last. She brought her to the Island in the Frozen Seas, knowing Thorgal would follow his Aaricia wherever she was taken to. And so he did. Together with Gandalf de Gek who would give the whole operation a dramatic twist. When Thorgal and the daughter of Slive finally could look each other in the eyes the daughter threw away her sword and started to explain why Thorgal was here. But Gandalf knew this was a perfect opportunity to get her down and he killed her with one arrow. Slive, knowing all was over, gave up. She withdrew in the dept of her castle, which was actually the crippled space ship. The only one alive now. Surrounded by the bodies of her dead daughter and the dozens of dead members of her race who were buried in glass cylinders. Her slaves were set free. The engines and fires died down. Soon ice and cold would reclaim it's rightful territory. |
