Many artists have worked on Vampirella and many made a background for her. It's not quite clear what exactly her background is, but in general, she's from Drakulon, a planet orbiting the twin suns Satyr and Circe. Satyr is a variable star that's slowly emitting rays that destroy all live on Drakulon. After which the sun dims and a new life has time to evolve. One of these races is the Vampiri, of which Vampirella is born. They can transform in bats and they drink blood. But their race is dying too because of the sun Satyr. Then an earth spaceship arrives and with that Vampirella comes to earth.
